Gothic Angel

 

Supplies

1 tube of choice -  I used the artwork of Delphine Demers and can be purchased from CDO.  You must have a license to use.

Font of choice - I used Fire of Ysgard Wide here

This tutorial was written assuming you have a working knowledge of PSP.

~♥~ Let’s get started ~♥~

Open up the template.
Shift + D.
Close out the original.
Resize all layers 85%
Image/Canvas Size:
650 x 600
New Raster layer
Send to bottom
Flood fill white.
Delete the top 6 layers.

Highlight 12 layer.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 4 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.
Apply Eyecandy 3.1 - Glow:
Width: 3
Opacity: 100
Opacity Drop Off:  Fat
Color: #9da3af
OK

Highlight 11 layer.
Repeat the above step accept use Paper 1.

Highlight 10 layer.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
Copy and paste Paper 2 as a new layer.
Resize 70%
Move into position.
Selections/Invert
Tap the delete key.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.
Give it the same slight Inner Bevel:


Highlight 9 layer.
Select All/Float/Defloat
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 10 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.
Effects/Edge Effects/Enhance

Highlight 6 layer.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
Copy and paste Paper 3 as a new layer.
Resize 80%
Position the paper so that it covers both the top and bottom squares.
Highlight 6 layer.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
In your layers pallet highlight the paper layer.
Right Click
Promote Section to layer.
Deselect.

Highlight 8 layer.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
In your layers pallet highlight the paper layer.
Right Click.
Promote Section to layer.
Deselect.

You can now delete the resized paper layer as you won’t be using it any more.
Delete template layers 6 & 8.

Highlight 7 layer.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 12 Into Selection.
Adjust/Add Remove Noise/Add Noise:
Uniform and Monochrome checked
Noise: 73%
OK
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.
Give it a slight Inner Bevel:


Highlight 5 layer.
Repeat the above step.

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer.

Add your embellishments.  I used:
Tree:  Resize 70%
Wing 1:  Free rotate Right 10 degrees
Sign
Leaves 1:  Use your Pick Tool to lengthen it just a little/Duplicate
Candle 1:  Resize 70%
Candle 2;  Resize 40%
Crow:  Resize 30%

Highlight your white canvas.
New Raster layer.
Select All.
Copy and paste Paper 7 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Apply the mask.
Resize 110%
Use your Pick Tool and pull the sides out slightly.
Merge Group.

Add your copyrights.

Add your name.
Foreground: #8f9aa1
Background:  #211f22
Make your Text Tool active.
Stroke set at 1.0
Type your name.
Give it a slight Inner Bevel:


Resize all layers 80%

~♥~ Let’s get started ~♥~

Open up the template.
Shift + D.
Close out the original.
Delete the top 4 layers.
Image/Canvas Size:
700 x 600
Highlight and open up the background layer.
Flood fill white.

Highlight the Oval layer.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 2 Into Selection.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 7 Into Selection.
Selection/Modify/Contract by 7.
Tap the delete key.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.
Adjust/Add Remove Noise/Add Noise:
Monochrome and Gaussian checked
Noise: 73%
OK
Give the “frame” a slight Inner Bevel:


Highlight Rectangle layer.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Open Paper 8
Mirror
Copy
Make your working canvas active and paste Paper 10 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.

Make Paper 8 active.
Flip
Copy
Highlight Circle 2 layer.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Paste Into Selection.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.

Highlight Frame layer.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 7 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.
Give it the same Noise as you did to the oval “frame”.
Give it the same slight Inner Bevel.

Repeat the above step with Frame layer.

Highlight Circle Back layer.
Click anywhere outside of it with your Magic Wand.
Selections/Invert
New Raster layer.
Paste Paper 7 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.
Give it the same noise effect.
Give it the same slight Inner Bevel.

Highlight Dotted Rectangle layer.
Select All/FloatDefloat
New Raster layer.
Paste Paper 7 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.

Highlight Circle 1 layer.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 6 Into Selection.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 7 Into Selection.
Selections/Modify/Contract by 7.
Tap the delete key.
Deselect.
Give it the same Noise effect.
Give it the same slight Inner Bevel.
Delete the template layer.

Highlight Frame Back layer.
Click on both squares with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 3 Into Selection.
Copy and paste Ghost 3 as a new layer above the paper layer.
Resize 25% and 35%
Move into position.
Selections/Invert
Tap the delete key.
Copy and paste Moon as a new layer.
Resize 25% and 40%
Move into position.
Tap the delete key.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer.
Give it an exaggerated drop shadow.

Add your embellishments.  I used:
Stars:  Resize 25%/Duplicate/Move both into the position you want.  Change the Properties to Overlay.
Branch 1:  Resize 25%
Branch:  Resize 25%
Bow 2:  Resize 25% and 70%
Bat:  Resize 25% and 50%
Element 3:  Resize 25% and 60%
Cat:  Resize 25% and 50%
Candle 1:  Resize 25% and 85%

Highlight your white canvas.
New Raster layer.
Select All.
Copy and paste Paper 8 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Apply the mask.
Resize 110%
Use your Pick Tool and pull the sides out slightly.
Merge Group.

Add your copyrights.

Add your name.
Open the Moon element and section out the center of it with your Selection Tool.

Foreground: #000000
Background:  Pattern/Look for the moon element section.

Make your Text Tool active.
Stroke set at 1.0
Type your name.
Give it a slight Inner Bevel:


Highlight the candle layer.
Duplicate 2 times for a total of 3 candle layers.
Rename them Candle 1, 2, and 3.

Highlight Candle 1 layer.
Make your Freehand Selection Tool active set on Freehand and draw out the shape of a flame at the top where the wick is.
Apply Eyecandy 5:  Nature - Fire
Settings Tab:  Small, Candle
On the Colors Tab:  Move the Column Length slider until you have the flame height where you like.
OK
Close out Candle 1 layer.

Highlight Candle 2 layer.
Apply the same Fire effect accept hit the Random Seed button until you have a flame you like.
OK
Close out Candle 2 layer.

Highlight Candle 3 layer.
Repeat the above step.
Deselect.
Close out Candle 3 layer.
Reopen Candle 1 layer.
Copy Merge.

Time to Animate:

Open Animation Shop.
Edit/Paste as New Animation.

Back in PSP.
Close out Candle 1 layer.
Open up Candle 2 layer.
Copy Merge

Back in AS.
Edit/Paste/After Current Frame.

Back in PSP.
Close out Candle 2 layer.
Open up Candle 3 layer.
Copy Merge

Back in AS.
Edit/Paste/After Current Frame.

Ctrl + A (to highlight all frames).
Animation/Frame Properties:
Change the number to 22.
OK

Animation/Resize Animation:
Percentage of Original checked
Width & Height: 80
OK

Save your animation.

Open up the template.
Shift + D.
Close out the original.
Delete the top 7 layers, Stars, Dotted Lines, and Dots layers.
Image/Canvas Size:
700 x 650
Highlight and open up the background layer.
Flood fill white.

Highlight Circle layer.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 2 Into Selection.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 8 Into Selection.
Selection/Modify/Contract by 7.
Tap the delete key.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.
Give the “frame” a slight Inner Bevel:



Highlight Thin Rectangle layer.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 10 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.
Give it a slight Inner Bevel:


Highlight the other Thin Rectangle layer.
Repeat the above step.

I’m hoping I won’t lose you on the next part of this tutorial.  Take your time and follow step by step and you’ll do just fine!

Highlight Rectangle 3 layer.
Copy and paste Paper 4 as a new layer - It’s important that you don’t move this paper at all.
Resize 75% and 90%

Highlight Rectangle 1 layer.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
Highlight the resized paper layer.
Right Click
Click on Promote Section to Layer.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.

Highlight Rectangle 2 layer.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
Highlight the resized paper layer.
Right Click
Click on Promote Section to Layer.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.

Highlight Rectangle 3 layer.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
Highlight the resized paper layer.
Right Click
Click on Promote Section to Layer.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.

You can now delete the resized paper layer as you won’t be using it any more.

Highlight the Left Rectangle paper.
Click anywhere outside of it with your Magic Wand.
Selections/Invert
New Raster layer above the paper.
Copy and paste Paper 8 Into Selection.
Selections/Modify/Contract by 7
Tap the delete key.
Deselect.
Give it the same Inner Bevel you gave to the round frame you made.

Repeat the above step with the Middle and Right rectangle paper layers.

To each rectangle paper apply Greg’s Factory Output Vol. II - Pool Shadow:
Use Default settings accept move the intensity bar down to 60 or so.

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer.

Add your embellishments.  I used:
12:  Resize 70%/Duplicate/Mirror
34
2:  Resize 35%/Duplicate/Mirror
17:  Resize 40%/Position at the side of the rectangle/Use Pick Tool to pull the length down to be even with the Rectangle/Duplicate/Mirror
7:  Resize 45%
13: Resize 50%/Duplicate/Mirror
29:  Resize 50%
19:  Resize 29%/Free Rotate Left 45%/Duplicate and/or mirror as you like
38:  Resize 25%/Duplicate and/or mirror as you like
40:  Resize 65%

Highlight your white canvas.
New Raster layer.
Select All.
Copy and paste Paper 11 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Apply the mask.
Resize 110%
Merge Group.

Add your copyrights.

Add your name.
Foreground: #000000
Background:  Pattern/Paper 11

Make your Text Tool active.
Stroke set at .30
Type your name.
Give it a slight Inner Bevel:


Resize all layers 80%.

Punk Rock Fun

This tutorial was written assuming you have a working knowledge of PSP.

~♥~ Let’s get started ~♥~

Open up a 700 x 700 blank canvas.
Flood fill white.

Copy and paste Black Frame as a new layer.
Resize 40%
Free rotate Left 10 degrees.
Duplicate/Mirror

Copy and pate your tube as a new layer.
Move your tube and frame layers into their exact position - see my tag for reference.

Color Pallet:
Foreground:  e96fea
Background:  fae3d7
Style:  Linear
Angle: 30
Repeat: 0

Highlight the top frame.
Click inside of it with your Magic Wand.
Selections/Modify/Expand by 4.
New Raster layer below the frame.
Flood fill with the gradient.
Effects/Texture Effects/Polished Stone:
Use Default Settings
Deselect.

Highlight the bottom frame.
Repeat the above step.

Copy and paste your tube again as a new layer.
This tube will be going below the frames so position in front of both of them.  Once you know exactly where you want the tube to go move it below one of the frames.
Change the Opacity to Multiply.
Duplicate/Move below the other frame.

Highlight one of the flood fill layers.
Click anywhere outside of it with your Magic Wand.
Highlight the tube layer above it.
Tap the delete key.
Deselect.
Merge Down.
Apply Xerox - Porcelain:
Use Default Settings,

Repeat the above step with the other tube.

Add your embellishments.  I used:
Color Guitar 2:  Free rotate Right 30 degrees
Glass Star 2:  Resize 40%
Glass Star 1: Resize 30%/Flip
Butterfly 1:  Resize 25%/Duplciate/Mirror/Resize 70%
Emo color bear 2;  Resize 40%
Beaded Heart Chain:  Resize 75%
Music Notes:  Resize 50%

Highlight your white canvas.
New Raster layer.
Select All.
Copy and paste Paper 23 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Apply the mask.
Merge Group.

Add your copyrights.

Add your name.
If you want a curve to your name:
Color Pallet:
Foreground: #000000
Background:  Null
Width: 2

Make your Pen Tool active set on Freehand.
Draw a line however you like.
Make your Text tool active.
Move your curser along the center of the line until you see a Rocking A.
Click your mouse.
A Text box will appear.
Type your name.
In your layers pallet click on the + sign.
Click on the eye of the New Path layer to close this layer off.
Highlight Vector 1 layer.
Right Click
Convert to Raster layer.
Apply Eyecandy 3.1 - Glow:
Width: 3
Opacity: 100
Opacity Drop Off:  Thin
Color:  #e03992
OK

Resize all layers 80%.

This tutorial was written assuming you have a working knowledge of PSP.

~♥~ Let’s get started ~♥~

Open up a 700 x 700 blank canvas.
Flood fill white.

Copy and paste 14 as a new layer.
Resize 30%
Free rotate Left 5 degrees.
Click inside of it with your Magic Wand.
Selections/Modify/Expand by 4
New Raster layer below the frame.
Copy and paste Paper 4 Into Selection.
Copy and paste your close up image as a new layer below the frame.
Move into position.
Selections/Invert
Tap the delete key.
Deselect.

Close out your white background.
Merge Visible.
Reopen your white background.

Copy and paste 12 as a new layer.
Resize 25% and 40%
Click inside of it with your Magic Wand.
Selections/Modify/Expand by 2.
New Raster layer below the frame.
Copy and paste Paper 1 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Merge Visible the frame and paper.
Move behind the other merged layer - see my tag for reference.

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer.
Give it an exaggerated drop shadow.

Add your embellishments.  I used:
19:  Resize 25% and 60%
14:  Resize 25% and 60%
19:  Resize 50%/Duplicate
17:  Resize 25% and 60%/Duplicate
13:  Resize 25% and 50%/Duplicate/Mirror/Resize 70%
18:  Resize 25% and 60%

Highlight your white canvas.
New Raster layer.
Select All.
Copy and paste Paper 2 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Adjust/Blur/Gaussian Blur
Blur: 5
OK
Apply the mask.
Resize 110%
Merge Group.

Add your copyrights.

Add your name.

Resize all layers 80%.

Emo Chain:  Resize 75%

Highlight your white canvas.
New Raster layer.
Select All.
Copy and paste Paper 7 Into Selection
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 8 Into Selection.
Deselect.
To each paper layer:
Apply the mask.
Resize 120%
Merge Group.
Move one of the masks slightly to the side.

Add your copyrights.

Add your name.

Resize all layers 80%.

Deselect.

Highlight Glittered Shape layer.
Click anywhere outside of it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 16 Into Selection.
Adjust/Add Remove Noise/Add Noise:
Monochrome and Gaussian checked
Noise: 63%
OK
Delete the template layer.

Highlight Oval layer.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Flood fill with #131313
Duplicate
Apply Greg’s Factory Output Vol. II - Pool Shadow:
Use Default settings accept move the Intensity bar to 191
OK
Effects/Texture Effects/Mosaic - Antique
Use Default Settings.
OK
Copy and paste your tube as a new layer over the Mosaic layer.
Move into position - see my tag for reference.
Change the Properties to Soft Light.
Selections/Invert
Tap the delete key.
Copy and paste Full Moon as a new layer.
Resize 25%
Move into position behind the tube - see my tag for reference - you’ll see the moon right through the tube layer.  It’s ok.  We’ll take care of that in a bit.
Change the Properties to Soft Light.
Tap the delete key.
Deselect.
Highlight the tube layer.
Click anywhere outside of it with your Magic Wand.
Selections/Invert
Highlight the moon layer.
Tap the delete key.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.

Highlight Circle layer.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 13 Into Selection.
Deselect for now.

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer.
Position it in front of the circle.

Paste your tube again.
This layer you want a little larger and move just over the circle paper layer in your layers pallet.
Change the Properties to Soft Light.
Highlight the circle template layer.
Click anywhere outside of it with your Magic Wand.
Highlight the tube layer.
Tap the delete key.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.

Give the circle paper layer a slight Inner Bevel:


Add your embellishments.  I used:
Creepy Tree:  Resize 70%/Erase the grassy area of it.
Gate:  Resize 70%
Frame 2:  Resize 75% and 95%
Barbed Wire:  Resize 50%
Grass:  Resize 40%/Duplicate/Mirror
Skeleton Hand:  Resize 25% and 60%/Free rotate Left 25 degrees

Highlight your white canvas.
New Raster layer.
Select All.
Copy and paste Paper 6 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Apply the mask.
Use your Pick Tool to pull the sides out just a little.
Merge Group.

Add your copyrights.

Add your name.

Resize all layers 80%.
