Steampunk Love


Supplies

1 tube and 1 image of choice – I used the beautiful artwork of Katherine Barber which can be purchased from UpYour Art.  You must have a license to use.

Font of choice - I used Quickier here

Weescotlass Mask 362 here

Eyecandy 3.1 - Glow

This tutorial was written assuming you have a working knowledge of PSP.

~~ Lets get started ~~

Open up a 700 x 700 blank canvas.
Flood fill white.

New Raster layer.
Make your Selection Tool active set on Elipse.
Create an oval approximately 625 x 450 pixels.
Flood fill with #000000
Apply DSB Flux – Bright Noise:
Intensity: 20
Mix checked
OK
Selections/Modify/Contract by 7.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 1 Into Selection.
Deselect.

Close out your white background.
Merge Visible.
Reopen your white background.

Copy and paste 6 as a new layer.
Resize 25%
Free rotate Left 8 degrees.
You don’t have to worry about placement yet.
Click inside of it with your Magic Wand.
Selections/Modify/Expand by 1.
New Raster layer below the frame.
Copy and paste Paper 10 Into Selection.
Copy and paste your image below the frame.
Selections/Invert
Tap the delete key.
Deselect.
Change the Properties of the image to Hard Light.

Close out your white background and the merged layer.
Merge Visible.
Reopen all layers and move the merged frame layer into position – see my tag for reference.

Copy and paste 3 as a new layer.
Resize 30%
Make your Pick tool active and position this frame behind the merged frame layer, turn the frame so that the merged layer hides the ribbon that’s on the frame.
Click inside of it with your Magic Wand.
Selections/Modify/Expand by 4.
New Raster layer below the frame.
Copy and paste Paper 10 Into Selection.
Copy and paste your tube as a new layer below the frame.
Selections/Invert
Tap the delete key.
Deselect.

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer.
Position it at the right side of your canvas in front of the oval.

Add your elements.  I used:
7:  Resize 25%/Duplicate 2 x’s and form them in a straight line across your canvas.
5:  Resize 10% and 85%
14:  Resize 10%
13:  Resize 25% and 60%
21:  Resize 25%
24:  Resize 15%/Duplicate/Resize 70%

Crop your image slightly.

Highlight your white background.
New Raster layer.
Select All.
Copy and paste Paper 8 Into Selection.
Apply the mask.
Resize 105%
Merge Group.

Add your credits.

Add your name.
Color Pallet:
Foreground & Background:  #1f140b
Type your name.
Convert to Raster layer.
Apply Eyecandy 3.1 – Glow:
Width: 3
Opacity: 100
Opacity Drop Off:  Fat
Color: #b8c2c8
OK

Resize all layers 80%.
