Magic




Supplies Needed

1 tube of choice and 1 close up image – I used the amazing artwork of Verymany which can be purchased here

Font of choice – I used Monkey Snake here

Weescotlass Mask 138 here

Divine Intentionz template 437 here

DSB Flux – Bright Noise

This tutorial was written assuming you have a working knowledge of PSP. 

~~ Let’s get started ~~

Open up the template.
Shift + D.
Close out the original.
Delete the top 3 layers.
Resize all layers 80%
Image/Canvas Size:
700 x 500 Pixels
OK
Highlight the background layer.
Flood fill with #ffffff

Highlight Square 4 layer.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste el47 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Click inside the frame with your Magic Wand.
Selections/Modify/Expand by 4.
New Raster layer below the frame.
Copy and paste Paper 18 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Merge Visible the paper and frame.
Duplicate the merged layer.
Move into position over Square 3 layer.
Delete both template layers.

Copy and paste el67 as a new layer at the top of your layers pallet.
Resize 50%
Free rotate Left 10 degrees.
Click inside of it with your Magic Wand.  Zoom in and click inside of each area of the webbing.
Selections/Modify/Expand by 4.
New Raster layer below this frame.
Copy and paste Paper 12 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Give the frame a drop shadow.
Merge Down.
Frame and Paper should now be on the same layer.
Duplicate this merged layer.
In your layers pallet move each merged layer into position over Square 1 and Square 2 template layers.
Delete both template layers.

Highlight Rectangle 1 layer.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
Copy and paste Paper 17 as a new layer.
Resize 50%
Right click on the paper in your layers pallet.
Choose “Promote Section to Layer” from the drop down menu.
Deselect.
Delete the original paper layer.
Delete the template layer.
Give the paper a slight Inner Bevel:

Highlight Thin Rectangle 1 layer.
Merge Down.
Both thin rectangles should now be on the same layer.
Click on both of them with your Magic Wand.
Copy and paste Paper 25 as a new layer.
Resize 50%
Right click on the paper in your layers pallet.
Choose “Promote Section to Layer” from the drop down menu.
Delete the template layer and original paper layer.
Apply Greg’s Factory Output Vol. II – Pool Shadow:
Match your settings to mine –

Deselect.
Give the paper a slight Inner Bevel:

Highlight Small Circle Back.
Click anywhere outside of it with your Magic Wand.
Selections/Invert
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 12 Into Selection.
Duplicate/Change the Properties to Multiply.
Merge Down.
Deselect.
Apply DSB Flux – Bright Noise:
Intensity: 50
Mix checked
OK
Delete the template layer.

Repeat the above step with:
Frame template (give a slight Inner Bevel using the very first settings in this tutorial)
Circle Back template (don’t duplicate the paper)

Highlight Small Circle layer.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 2 Into Selection.
Add the following elements to the circle (don’t worry about what overhangs, we’ll clean it up in a bit):
El26:  Resize 10%
El13:  Resize 15%
El6:  Resize 35%
­OPTIONAL:
If you’re using the same tube as I did, copy and paste your tube as a new layer.  Change the Properties to Overlay. 
Selections/Invert
Highlight the tube and all elements and tap the delete key.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.

Highlight Large Circle 2 layer.
Click anywhere outside of it with your Magic Wand.
Selections/Invert
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 25 Into Selection.
Apply DSB Flux – Bright Noise:
Use same settings.
OK
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.

Highlight Large Circle layer.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 1 Into Selection.
Copy and paste a close up Image as a new layer.
Selections/Invert
Tap the delete key.
Deselect.

Highlight Raster 2 layer.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 2 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.
Highlight the frame layer that belongs to this paper.
Click inside of it with your Magic Wand.
Highlight the black paper in your layers pallet that belongs to this frame.
Copy and paste el 42 as a new layer and move into a position you like.
Selections/Invert
Tap the delete key.
Copy and paste el1 as a new layer above the frame.
Erase the tail end of the ghost to make it appear as if it’s floating out of the frame.
Deselect.

Color Pallet:
Foreground:  #d0873e 
Background: #c00000
Make a gradient of your choice using these colors.

Copy and paste el94 as a new layer.
Resize 50%
Use your Target Tool and color this with your gradient color.
Duplicate/Mirror the element.
Move them into position – see my tag for reference.

Add your elements.  I used:
El68:  Resize 20%
El23:  Resize 30%
El18:  Resize 10%/Duplicate/Flip
El24:  Resize 25%/Duplicate/Mirror
El31:  Resize 30%
El31 (again):  Resize 20%/Duplicate/Resize 70%
El65:  Resize 20%/Duplicate/Mirror/Resize 70%
El51:  Resize 20%
El28:  Resize 10%
El27:  Resize 40%
El19:  Resize 25%
El29:  Resize 20%
El105:  Resize 20%
El20:  Resize 25%
EL30:  Resize 10
El3:  Resize 65%/Mirror
El37:  Resize 15%
El122:  Resize 15%
El93:  Resize 15%
EL 36:  Resize 70%/Duplicate/Mirror

Highlight your white background.
New Raster layer.
Select All.
Copy and paste Paper 2 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Apply the mask.
Resize 110%
Merge Group.
Move the mask to the left side of your background.
Duplicate/Mirror

Add your copyrights.

Add your name.
Color Pallet:
Foreground & Background: #100d09
Stroke: 1.0
Type your name.
Convert to Raster layer.
Select All/Float/Defloat
Selections/Modify/Expand by 2.
New Raster layer below your name.
Flood fill with #f27e23
Apply DSB Flux – Bright Noise:
Use same settings
OK
Apply Greg’s Factory Output Vol. II – Pool Shadow:
Match your settings to mine:

Merge Visible both name layers.

Close out your white background.
Merge Visible.
Resize all layers 85%.

A Crisp Autumn


Supplies Needed

This tutorial was written assuming you have working knowledge of PSP. 

~~ Let’s get started ~~

Open up the template.
Shift + D.
Close out the original.
Delete the top 9 layers.
Image/Resize -
Resize all layers 80%
OK
Image/Canvas Size
700 x 600
OK
Highlight the background layer.
Flood fill white.

Highlight Top Dark Pink Square layer.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
Copy and paste Paper 1 as a new layer above the template.
Move the paper so that the top left corner of it is over the template.
Right click on the paper in the layers pallet.
Choose “Promote Section to Layer” from the drop down menu.
(Close the Original paper out for now)
Deselect.
Apply Brush Strokes – Cross hatch to the Promoted Paper layer.
Stroke Length: 36
Sharpness: 8
Strength: 1
OK
Delete the template layer.

Open up the Original paper layer and move it above Bottom Dark Pink Square layer in your layers pallet.
Repeat the above step accept position the bottom left corner of the paper over the template.
Delete the Original Paper layer.

Highlight Gold Rectangle layer.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
Copy and paste Paper 1 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.
Give the paper a slight Inner Bevel:

Highlight Right Tan Circle.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 11 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Apply the same Crosshatch effect.
Delete the template layer.

Highlight Left Tan Circle.
Repeat the above step.

Highlight Right Cream Strip.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
Copy and paste Autumn Paper Frame 1 as a new layer above the template layer.
Position the top left area of the frame over the template.
Right click on the frame in your layers pallet.
Choose Promote Section to Layer from the drop down menu.
Delete the Original Frame element layer.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.
Copy the promoted layer.
Paste it as a new layer and move into position over the Left Crème Strip template layer.  It’s OK that it looks “not right” because your tube will hide it.
Delete Left Crème Strip layer.

Highlight Brown Rectangle.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 2 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.
Give the paper the same slight Inner Bevel.

Highlight Top Pink Circle.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 12 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.

Highlight Bottom Pink Circle.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
Paste Paper 12 (should still be in the memeory) Into Selection.
Copy and paste Bridge 4 as a new layer over the paper.
Resize 40%
Move into position over the paper layer.
Selections/Invert
Tap the delete key.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.
Give the paper the same slight Inner Bevel.

Color Pallet:
Foreground: #ffffff
Background: #902542

Highlight Top Dotted Circle.
Make your Color Replacer Tool active.
Double right click on the template.
It should turn to a maroon color.

Highlight Bottom Dotted Circle.
Repeat the above step.

Highlight Dark Pink Rectangle.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 7 Into Selection.
Give it the same slight Inner Bevel.
Effects/Texture Effects/Blinds:
Width: 5
Opacity: 48
Color: #7a7050
Horizontal checked
OK
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.

Copy and paste TP_Heart_01b as a new layer.
Resize 70%
Copy and paste your tube as a new layer and position it more toward the right area of the heart – see the green heart on my tag as reference.
Change the Opacity to Multiply and lower the Opacity to about 28.
Be sure to give the tube a drop shadow.
Make your Selection Tool active set on Point to Point.
Section around the light green heart.
Selections/Invert
Highlight the tube layer.
Tap the delete key.
Selections/Modify/Inside Outside Feather:
Feather amount: 30
OK
Tap the delete key until you have the feathered effect you want.
Deselect.
Merge Visible the heart and tube layers.

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer.
Move into position – see my tag for reference.

Add your elements.  I used:
Autumn Leaves 01:  Resize 85%
Circle_Frame_01:  Resize 55/Duplicate
Grass Flowers_01: Duplciate/Resize 70%
Bow_07:  Resize 65%
Pumpkin_01a:  Duplicate/Resize one of them 20%, the other 15%
Butterfly_04:  Resize 20%

Highlight your white background.
Select All.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 7 as a new layer.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 2 as a new layer – change the Properties to Overlay.
Deselect.
To each paper:
Apply the mask.
Merge Group.

Add your copyrights.

Add your name.
Color Pallet:
Foreground:  #56362b
Background: #982c29
Stroke: 1.0

Type your name.
Give it a slight Inner Bevel:

Resize all layers 80%.

Autumn Admiration

This tutorial was written assuming you have working knowledge of PSP. 

~~ Let’s get started ~~

Open up the template.
Shift + D.
Close out the original.
Image/Canvas Size:
800 x 600
OK
Highlight the background layer.
Flood fill white.
Delete the credit layer, Border Delicious, and Delicious

Open up Paper 10.

Color Pallet:
Foreground: #000000
Background: Pattern/Look for Paper 10
Angle: 0
Scale: 100

This template has 3 “Dotted Line” layers.
To each of them:
Make your Color Replacer tool active.
Highlight each layer and double right click your mouse on them.
After you have done that –
To each template layer:
Select All/Float/Defloat
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 10 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Merge Down.

Once you have the above steps, highlight the dotted lines layer that’s just above the very large rectangle.
In your layers pallet move this layer just above your white background.
The reason for this is because if you don’t move it then the dots will show in front of your elements later on.

Highlight Big Rectangle.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 5 Into Selection.
Copy and paste Tree 1 as a new layer.
Resize 75% and move into a position you like at the right side of the rectangle.
Right click your mouse on it in the layers pallet and choose “Promote Section To Layer”
Delete the original element layer.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.
Change the Properties of the element to Soft Light.
Highlight the paper layer and give it a slight Inner Bevel:

Highlight Circle layer.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 1 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.

Highlight Diamond Layer.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 14 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.

Highlight Line Diamond.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
Copy and paste Paper 9 as a new layer.
Resize 40% and move into a position you like over the template.
Right click on the paper in the layers pallet and choose “Promote Section to Layer”
Change the Properties to Screen.
Deselect.
Close out the template layer – DON’T DELETE IT.

In your layers pallet move the paper above Line Gray Rectangle layer.
Highlight Line Gray Rectangle layer.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
Resize the paper again, 70% and move into a positon you like.
Right Click your mouse on it in your layers pallet and choose “Promote Section to Layer.”
Change the Properties to Darken
Delete the Original paper.
Deselect.

Copy and paste Button 1 as a new layer.
Resize 5% and 50%
Apply Mura’s Meister – Copies:
Choose Line and change Number to 40
OK
Free rotate Left 90 degrees.
Duplicate
Move both lines into position over the paper that belongs to the Line Diamond template – see my tag for reference.
Highlight the Line Diamond Template and click anywhere outside of it with your Magic Wand.
Highlight each of the element lines you just created and tap the delete key.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.

Duplicate the longer line you created.
Resize 70%
Duplicate
Move each of these lines into position over the paper that belongs to Line Gray Rectangle template and repeat the above step.

Highlight Small Orange Rectangle.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 3 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.

Highlight Small Gray Rectangle layer.
Repeat the above step.
Give the paper the same slight Inner Bevel as you used before.

Highlight Gray Rectangle layer.
Click on it with your Magic Wand.
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 8 Into Selection.
Copy and paste your tube as a new layer – if you’re using the same as I did, do not resize.
Change the Properties of the tube to Soft Light and lower the Opacity to 61.
Duplicate the tube and lower the Opacity to 26.
Highlight the Original tube.
Adjust/Blur/Gaussian Blur:
Radius 3
OK
Apply Xero – Porcelain:
Use default settings accept move the Blue Channel to 0.
OK
Selections/Invert
Highlight each tube layer and tap the delete key.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.

Highlight Border Diamond Layer.
Select All/Float/Defloat
New Raster layer.
Copy and paste Paper 2 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Delete the template layer.
Give the frame a slight Inner Bevel:

Repeat the above step with –
Border Small Orange Rectangle and Border Gray Rectangle.

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer.

Add your elements.  I used:
Frame 1:  Resize 70%
Doodle 1:  Resize 35%
Leaves Bling 1:  Resize 60%/Duplicate/Flip/Mirror
Wagon Wheel 1:  Resize 55%
Flower 7
Sign 1:  Resize 50%
Flower 5:  Resize 25%/Duplicate/Mirror/Resize 70%
Flower 4:  Resize 25%/Mirror/Duplicate/Mirror/Resize 70%
Mushrooms 1:  Resize 10%
Leaves 2:  Resize 60%
Leaves 2 again:  Resize 40%/Dupliate/Mirror/Resize 80%
Bird 1:  Resize 15%/Duplicate/Mirror
Squirrel:  Resize 20%

Add your copyrights.

Highlight your white background.
New Raster layer.
Select All.
Copy and paste Paper 10 Into Selection.
Deselect.
Apply the mask.
Merge Group.
Duplicate
Mirror
Move both mask layers into better position.

Add your name:
Color Pallet:
Foreground: #563f2e
Background: #bc2300
Make your Text Tool active
Set the Stroke Width to 1.
Type your name
Give it a slight Inner Bevel:
